As a photographer, I have been to my fair few weddings, here are some of tips for your day that I have come across during my time photographing and what can help us photographers to capture your memories perfectly!

• Bride/Bridesmaids - Don't wear a bra at all the morning of your wedding to avoid lines. Don't wear socks either as these can cause lines too. Remove those hair ties from your wrists.

• Use eyelash glue to secure the back of your necklace to your neck so it doesn't rotate. 

• Don't skip your breakfast/lunch!

• Walk a lot slower down the aisle than you think you should, it may feel un-natural but it's worth it! Also hold your bouquet at your belly button and keep your head up!

• If you're likely to cry, have some q-tips at the ready to catch your tears, don't ruin your makeup!

• The first kiss - Hold it! Try and hold your kiss for 3 seconds to give us the best chance to capture it, if you just have a little peck, there is a chance we may have missed it.

• Have your maid of honour pull your officiant to the side for the first kiss.

• Stand close together and hold hands for the entire ceremony.

• Have your officiant announce straight after the ceremony for "all family stay for family photos".

• Make sure you put a list together for your photographer of the formal images you wish to have such as Mother & Bride / Mother & Charlie etc. This will help us know exactly who should be in your formals on the day. 

• Exiting - Walk back down the aisle hand in hand and add a kiss at the end for more images!

• During the confetti throw, keep your head up! So many people walk with their heads down as it is thrown and we cannot see your faces in the images. 

• Stop half way through your confetti throw for a dip kiss! 

• When you're sitting with your partner, take a minute to look around and soak it all in!

• The brighter the venue the better for your photographer, try and keep this in mind when viewing venues to help get those light and airy images.

• Have an unplugged ceremony - meaning no phones! It doesn't matter how many signs you have on your day, people will still have their phones out during the ceremony and in the background of all of your images. Have your officiant announce this to your guess before you walk down the aisle. Some couples allow 30 seconds for their guests to take images during the ceremony before asking them to be put away again.
